IS MIDI THE NEW MINI?

IS MIDI THE NEW MINI?

The other day while I was arranging my wardrobe, I noticed I own only 2 pairs of mini skirts versus a dozen of midi skirts. That sight got me thinking, has the era of mini skirts passed? Why do I see such less people wearing mini skirts these days? It may just be the weather but then you cannot deny the rise and rise of midi skirts. I, for one, have always been a big fan of midi skirts because I lean more towards the classic-chic and elegance school of style.

Well, there was a time when mini skirts ruled the runways and the streets but like everything else in fashion, the time has changed. The shorter, the better no longer holds true for skirt lengths. Midi skirts have dominated the fashion scene the last couple of years and the trend only seems to grow stronger. Full midi skirts are still on every fashion house's radar, everyone has done their own version of it, but the real applause goes to Tibi for bringing back the 50's elegance.

Midi skirts are an easy to style option to have in the wardrobe, you can wear them with crop tops, shirts, t-shirts or jumpers. A good statement piece goes a long way and I always believe it's a good idea to collect timeless pieces even if they're a bit heavy on the pocket. This Sachin & Babi mixed-print tea length skirt is certainly a skirt-collector's item (no-doubt it's resting in my closet right now)! Btw, have you seen the Sachin & Babi F/W 2016 collection, you can view it here. Also, don't forget to share your thoughts on the battle of mini vs midi skirts! Have a lovely weekend, folks! :)
