PLAYFUL SOPHISTICATION WITH KATE SPADE
My favorite part of visiting a Kate Spade store is the visual merchandising done by them. All of their stores have a colorful & playful vibe without being low on the sophistication factor. It's always riveting to note, when a brand brings its signature style alive in their brick & mortar outlets. Kate Spade has always been the one to effectively convey 'Playful Sophistication' , through its brilliant visual merchandising techniques.
I remember this one time, walking into the Kate Spade store and being completely spell-bound by the amazing wall mural that they created merely out of colorful boxes. You can really get so much inspiration from the places you visit, only if you keep your eyes open & are ready to absorb like a sponge.
Gingham (light-weight cotton cloth, checked in white & a bold color & also the one that resembles a table-cloth ;]) has always been one of my favorite prints, so basic yet so sophisticated. And if you're talking about graphic prints and bows, it's unlikely you'll be talking about anything else than Kate Spade. This gingham dress from Kate Spade is the very meaning of everyday style done right. It's basic yet chic, playful yet sophisticated.
If you've know the story of Kate Spade, you'll know she was a passionate young woman who believed in the beauty of her dreams and built an empire from humble beginnings. Her passion is reflected in the brand's ideology and the products they manufacture. Hence, I decided to go red for this post, red that's been known for passion & Kate Spade who signifies passion.
As consumers, we need to be aware of the brands we are wearing and ultimately representing. It is not enough to just endorse a label, we need to dig deeper in our thoughts and know the history behind why the label/brand/designer has become so big and then be proud of ourselves in making that choice. A little bit of effort in understanding what we're wearing, who are we supporting never goes futile. If not anything, the least it gets you is satisfaction, the satisfaction of knowing than just seeing.
