HONEY, I SHRUNK THE CLOTHES - WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SHRINK YOUR CLOTHES
Screaming, Crying, perfect storms…all that you feel after you accidentally shrunk your oh so beloved clothes. We’ve all been in that horrible place, with no point of return, when you see your favorite clothes shrunk by a size or two or three. But hey, don’t just give up yet – there’s always a solution to every problem, maybe not the one you’d prefer or wanted but there’s always a solution (so says the undying optimistic spirit of Harry Potter inside of us).
So let’s get started, here’s a survival guide for all the clothes that you’ve shrunk and all the OOTD’s you’ve ruined.
1. Damn those denims
You had a favorite pair of jeans and you shrunk it, now what? Throw it or tweak it? We’d say tweak it, take that pair of jeans and transform it into denim culottes or shorts depending on how much you’ve shrunk it.
2. Dress in distress
Is the dress too short to wear now? No problem, wear it like a tunic top over shorts or your favorite pants and if it’s too tight to fit, consider tearing & tailoring to transform it into a skirt.
This is a kind of a no-brainer. What do you do when your tops/shirts shrink up by a few sizes? You wear them as a crop top! The crop top trend isn’t going anywhere for a while now, so anything that’s shrunk or is out of size can easily be worn as a crop top, right?
4. Skirt it up
So you shrunk your skirt, now dance to the tunes of Umbrella..ella..ellaaa. Don’t get it yet? Wear your shrunken skirts as umbrella tops that are high on the trend radar right now.
A stole gets a new life altogether once it’s shrunken. It becomes a bandana scarf; yes a bandana scarf that you can use in not just one but in many ways. See for yourself here.
