Paris had always been my dream city to visit and I recently visited this gorgeous-breathtakingly-romantic city two months back and needless to say, I fell in love with it.
Although I was in Paris for a very short trip, it has already made it to my list of favorite cities in the world (the list includes Munich, Chicago, LA, NYC, Mumbai and Barcelona so far, in case you were wondering). I did not really have the time to visit all the great sights and attractions this city has to offer, but I made to a few and I spent most time wandering on the pretty streets and chilling in the cosy-cool cafes in Montemarte district.
While I was here, I felt like there was something in the air, that made everything around seem so magical and beautiful. Many of my friends who had visited Paris before me had warned me to not expect too much as they did not have a great travel experience. But for me, I think this city exceeded the expectations. I thought there was beauty in every nook and corner of this mesmerzing city. From the pretty streets to the historical buildings to the old-rugged stations, I loved everything.
I have this thing for gothic architecture, I simply adore gothic buildings and visiting Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle was truly extraordinaire for me. The intricacies and details of these buildings were so stunningly hard to believe. To think that all these buildings were made centuries ago by humble beings like us gives me all kinds of chills.
Oh BTW, did I tell you I had this super-yummy cheese crepe and cheese-cake rambosia flavoured ice-cream in one of the small restaurants in front of Notre-Dame, I don't remember the name now sorryyyy! :( But the thought of it still makes my taste-buds go crazy, yes it was THAT good. And the bubbles, oh the bubbles!
I didn't really have the time to explore the shopping scene in Paris, usually I love to visit vintage stores and scout out for unique pieces everytime I visit a new city. But whatever little I got to see in Paris was SO good, the small boutiques in Montmarte district were really cool but if you want the fancy route, then Champs-Élysées is your place.
I am pretty sure after reading this post you must have figured out that I am totally in head-over-heels love with Paris and will be re-visiting it sometime soon.
Au Revoir, Paris!
