HIROMI ASAI F/W 2016 - REVIVING THE KIMONO

HIROMI ASAI F/W 2016 - REVIVING THE KIMONO

It's always a good thing when a designer pays tribute to his/her home country and believes in reviving some of its dying traditions. Hiromi Asai, a US based designer, wants to bring back the traditional Japanese outfit of Kimono with a modern twist.

The F/W 2016 collection by Hiromi Asai celebrated the Japanese culture by giving us a glimpse of the old world charm through the lens of the modern world. The collection displayed varied versions of the Kimono in colorful prints and textures. Some of the Kimonos could very well translate into a more ethnic version of the modern day wrap dress. The big and colorful waist belts also made for an interesting accessory. One of the outfits that caught our eye was the Kimono wrap dress in bold black and pink strips, with floral print on it.

Unconventional, strong, modern yet rooted in tradition is what the Hiromi Asai F/W 2016 collection stands for, according to us and we absolutely love the designs.
