6 STYLE TRICKS TO STEAL FROM GUCCI F/W 2016 SHOW

6 STYLE TRICKS TO STEAL FROM GUCCI F/W 2016 SHOW

The Gucci F/W 2016 show has been on everyone's lip and there is no reason why it shouldn't be. Alessandro Michele has quite been the transformative force for Gucci since he presented his first collection last year. His rock-n-roll designs, graphic prints, fur lined loafers and the serpent sandals received resplendent responses from the industry and were an instant hit among street style stars. Not to mention, the huge publicity acts done by Gucci in the span of one year has also led the label to revamp its image. The Fall/Winter 16 collection had the same hippy-geeky girl vibe to it and showcased pieces that literally gave us the feels, biker babe + renaissance romantic in one? Only Alessandro Michele could do it and this old-meets-new formula sure seems to be working for Gucci.

There's no denying the clothes were magnum opus of the season, but the styling deserves an applaud too. Here are 5 styling tricks to steal from Gucci's F/W 2016 show.

1. BRING A PRINT FRENZY

Has anyone ever told you wearing too much print is a bad thing? Probably yes, right? Well, slam this picture across their faces. Gucci proves that nothing's too much, especially if we are talking about prints. Get the paisleys and pinstripes out, mix and match them like nobody cares. Let's cook up a print storm, shall we?

2. GO GRAPHIC

Well, there's something about dressing up like a character from an animation movie that's giving the fashion world the feels, at the moment. Everyone's digging the bold graphic eye-catching prints and so are we! So if you've got a little something from your childhood closet that dons the 3D holographic print, get it out and flaunt it around like you just walked out of a Disney movie! Jokes aside, the 3D graphic prints are having a major fashion moment and if you have some serious street-style swagger goals, this might just be your secret sauce to success. Take a cue from Gucci!

3. SOCK IT UP

Okay, this one's not really something new and we have seen the 'socks under the heels' trend do rounds on the runway before. But seriously, Gucci just proved that nothing beats 'socks + metallic sandals' combination. Yes, we've found a new way to wear our metallic footwear, with socks. We are going to try this trick every time we wear something metallic on our feet. Happy feet, happy us!

4. TIE-PARTY

Who's ready for some serious tie-party? (no, that's not a typo). Why does anyone need to go through the pain of tying a knot, when ties lying around on the shoulder look so much cooler?! What a clever lazy girl hack, right? Just put a tie around your shoulders and you're ready to make a statement. We're so glad someone came up with this idea and we hope this tie trend replaces all the furs we see around people's neck during fashion week. Yikes!

5. BOW DOWN

Is there any cuter way to rock a 70's inspired look than to have a big bow hanging around your neck? Raid your craft supplies and get pastel colored satin ribbons in different colors, tie them around your neck in a big bow and voila, be back from the 70s. And no you don't need to go hunting for tops or dresses that come with a pre-stitched bow. Take a cue from Gucci and make your own.

6. GRANDMA'S JEWELRY

There's absolutely no greater joy than raiding someone's closet, right? And the joy doubles up if it's someone from your family. Go raid your grandma's closet and get her jewelry out. Remember those pearl-studded strings that were much in fashion in the 50s, looks like those days are back again. Yes, the jewelry we all once said no to, looks like it's made the list of the 'It girl's' closet. Here's how Gucci does it!
