WHY I AM NOT A FAN OF THE HALF-BUN HAIRSTYLE

WHY I AM NOT A FAN OF THE HALF-BUN HAIRSTYLE

The one trend that I am not going bun-nanas over is the half bun trend! Ever since Alicia Vikander sported the half bun on the Oscars’ red carpet this year, it has spread like a wildfire in the world of hairstyles. But is it really that great a trend that every other gram on my instagram has a half bun in it? No I don’t think so and I have my reasons for it.

Firstly, why go through the pain of making a bun when half of the hair is still down hanging on the neck like jeepers-creepers. Secondly, I thought the whole purpose of making a bun was to be fuss-free, sweat-free and to hide the bad-hair day situation. The oh-so overrated half-bun is doing neither, then why so much effort?  And my third reason is actually a comment that I read on a website about the hairstyle which seriously spoiled the whole half-bun thing for me.  And it might do the same to you, so be warned.

The topic of discussion was the half-bun sported by a Bollywood actress & let me quote the comment for you “She’s giving me some serious Shiv-ji vibes”. I laughed so hard at this comment but then it made its way through my mind. Now every time I see someone with the half bun and long hair underneath, I cannot help but compare the image to Lord Shiva in my mind.

So are you or are you not a fan of the half-bun hairstyle?
