KA-SHA - LAKME FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2016
BOHEMIAN. COLOR SYMPHONY. FABRIC MANIPULATION
If you need a lesson in layering, you don't need to look far! One look at Ka-sha's collections and you'll get what I mean. Layering has always been the essence of this brand, not just in terms of styling but also in fabric reinterpretation. Tie-dye, fringe, pom-poms, ruffles are signature elements of Ka-sha and this collection embraced these elements in their full glory.
What is striking to note is the fabric manipulation, how the leftover trims are used as design elements in dresses, scarfs, jackets etc. The vibrant color palette interestingly gives the clothes the right amount of Indian-ness you'd want. The designer, Karishma Shahani-Khan, successfully managed to marry the current trends (pom-poms, fringes) with her design sensibility (color bomb, sustainable fashion) to deliver an undulating bohemian collection.
Some of the most interesting pieces included the colored fringe jacket (look no.7), ruffle scarf (look no. 6), Blazer Saree (look no.5) and the pom-pom jacket (look no. 1).
