RUNAWAY BICYCLE- LAKME FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2016
UTILITY. ANDROGYNOUS. IMPONDEROUS
For the busy-paced world that we live in today, Preeti Verma's theme for the recent Runaway Bicycle show seemed befitting. With the theme being 'Working Hours', the models walked in, each assuming a certain role like baker, florist, painter with appropriate props. The clothing & styling did manage to transport you to those good old French days, when women had just started dressing like men.
Although the focus was on utility, there is no denying that the collection was equally high on the trend factor. It wouldn't be inappropriate to suggest 'comfortable chic' as the tagline for this collection of Runaway Bicycle. The organza, linen and cotton fabrics in sombre tones further justify the theme and the brilliantly structured light, airy outfits make them a perfect choice for work-wear. The collection stood true to its theme and some of the favorite outfits include the organza dress (look 1), the pinafore dress with a tie-up belt (look 3), short-suit (look 7) and the jumpsuit with sailor knot (look 8).
